Week 3 of the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP‑AC) Live Webinar Series focuses on Gastrointestinal, Renal, and Genitourinary Issues and Disorders, offering an in‑depth review of acute and emergent pediatric GI, renal, and GU conditions commonly encountered in hospital and intensive care practice. This live online session is part of an eight‑week evening webinar series designed to build exam‑ready knowledge for the PNP‑AC certification exam while providing practical, evidence‑based guidance for advanced pediatric acute care nurse practitioners.
Date and Time: September 15, 2026 — 7:00–10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Week 3 is led by experienced pediatric acute care faculty and provides 2.75 contact hours and 0.75 hours of pharmacology. The session is delivered live over Zoom, with opportunities for real‑time Q&A, case‑based discussions, and exam‑style questions to help clinicians connect guideline‑driven management to everyday acute care decision‑making.
This webinar reviews recognition and treatment of pediatric gastrointestinal obstructions and congenital abnormalities, acute liver failure, and complex hepatobiliary conditions. Clinicians learn to evaluate and manage neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, volvulus, and Hirschsprung disease, with emphasis on early identification of red‑flag findings and timely surgical and medical consultation. Renal content covers acute kidney injuries and differentiation between prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal failure, while also exploring metabolic conditions, nephrotic syndrome, and nephritis. Genitourinary topics include urinary tract infections and reproductive emergencies such as testicular and ovarian torsion, guiding nurse practitioners through assessment, imaging, and stabilization strategies for these time‑sensitive pediatric presentations.
Week 3 can be attended as a stand‑alone webinar for targeted learning in pediatric GI, renal, and genitourinary acute care, or as part of the complete eight‑week PNP‑AC Live Webinar Series. The full series covers primary care foundations, neurologic and toxicologic issues, respiratory and shock states, cardiovascular disorders and sedation, infectious diseases and fluids/electrolytes, oncologic and hematologic conditions, endocrine and maltreatment concerns, and trauma and burn injuries. The program is ideal for PNP‑AC students preparing for certification, recent graduates seeking structured board review, and experienced pediatric acute care NPs looking to refresh and update their practice with flexible weekly sessions and aligned contact hours.
